What Do We Teach?
We aim to give students additional confidence with their Maths and English skills from ages 4-13 while also assisting children to prepare for both internal and external examinations, which commonly include 4+, 7+ and 11+ exams. We offer lessons both online and in person, at your home. Lessons are typically one hour long, although this can be altered according to each child’s needs.

We do also offer online language tuition in French and Spanish as well as small-group online astronomy classes for KS2 students. Additionally, we offer yoga classes for children which can be conducted at your home.
For all academic subjects, we run informal assessments for your child at the beginning of the process to determine areas for improvement straight away. Our tutors also keep an online record of lesson content and homework covered each week so that parents can easily check in on work covered and to be completed. Our tutors write reports at the end of each term to allow parents greater insight into the progress of lessons and your child's development.

ENGLISH
We support children with their comprehension skills and technique as well as writing response, both fiction and nonfiction. We provide children with clear frameworks to support their writing response accompanied by mark schemes. We focus on lifting children's range of vocabulary and application of new language to sentences and stories.
We aim to encourage participation and enjoyment in regular reading with all our students as we believe engagement with reading is the cornerstone of success for the English curriculum.
MATHS
We place importance on making maths relevant and exciting for our students by attaching abstract concepts to concrete objects and real life situations. We might incorporate maths skills into wider projects in lesson time such as designing a restaurant menu or budgeting for an imaginary business, to show the real life application of mathematics.
For all years, we teach both mental maths and reasoning skills and practice applying maths knowledge to multi-step problems as well as building familiarity with maths language for KS1 students. We work with both the White Rose Maths & Maths, No Problem! curriculums and use regular assessments to check progress.
EXAM
As lead tutor, Jenny has years of experience helping children successfully through both the 7+ and 11+ examinations. We work closely with school past papers to help children improve the necessary skills to excel here, including reasoning and interview preparation.
We prepare children for both the GL & CEM exam boards at 11+ as well as independent school entry at 7+ and 11+. We believe that all children have the potential to succeed in examinations with the correct timeline of preparation and consistent support.
MODERN LANGUAGES
AND ESL
We currently offer online individual and group tuition in Spanish, French & German for students aged 7-18. We also offer tuition for students learning English as a foreign language.
Our lessons are fun, interactive and filled with listening and speaking activities including stories and games for younger years and role play opportunities for older students
Our language tutors (Cerys, Pascale & Elisabeth) aim to ensure a balance between understanding of technical and grammar points while inspiring a creative approach to language learning which breeds consistency and enthusiasm.
Two of the tutor team, Jenny & Pascale, are trained children’s yoga teachers. They offer 1-1 and group sessions for children at your home and will be running a weekly class from the Autumn Term of 2022.
Pascale is trained in sensory yoga and experienced in designing classes accessible for SEN children also. Our yoga teaching aims to incorporate more than just instruction of physical postures but to show children how to self soothe via connection with their bodies and develop tools which will enable them to cope with stresses of life as they grow up.
Many of our tutors have specialist subjects which they are able to teach up to A Level.
